FTC a Custody Award Finalist 2018 Industry Award Finalist logo

BOSTON – June 26, 2018 – Fiduciary Trust Company, a private wealth management firm serving individuals, professional advisors and nonprofits, was named as a finalist in the 2018 awards. Fiduciary Trust has been designated as one of two finalists in the Custody Award category for Corporate Social Responsibility/Diversity Initiatives. The award winner will be announced on September 13 in New York at the Industry Awards Event.

The Corporate Social Responsibility/Diversity Initiatives category recognizes new initiatives that enhance the industry’s image, give back to the community, improve society, and promote diversity. Criteria includes both quantitative and qualitative measures, and the finalists are determined by an independent panel of judges. In naming the finalists, cited Fiduciary Trust’s partnership with Fiduciary Trust Charitable, a 501(c)(3) public charity, to launch a donor-advised fund offering available through approved financial advisors across the industry.

“We’ve taken the personal service and flexibility of our custody offering and applied it to donor-advised funds,” comments Scott Sumner, Vice President, Head of Custody for Fiduciary Trust Company. “Philanthropy is important to many high-net-worth families and their advisors, and we are delighted to partner with Fiduciary Trust Charitable to create a compelling advisor-managed donor-advised fund program in this underserved market.”

“Our donor-advised funds enable donors to benefit from tailored investments, philanthropic guidance and personal service, typically through their existing financial advisor,” notes Todd Eckler, Executive Director of Fiduciary Trust Charitable. “They also receive the general tax and flexibility benefits of donor-advised funds, and a $50,000 new account opening balance requirement which is significantly lower than most advisor-managed programs.”
