BOSTON – March 3, 2020 – Fiduciary Trust Company, an independent wealth advisor and investment management firm for high-net-worth individuals, nonprofits, and third-party advisors, is pleased to announce the hiring of Priya Amar as a Vice President and Trust Counsel.
As a member of Fiduciary’s trust and estates legal team, Priya will work with clients to refine and implement their estate plans as well as settle clients’ estates. This includes working with clients and their estate planning attorneys to establish estate plans to protect assets, minimize taxes, provide for family members, and achieve philanthropic goals. As a corporate trustee, Fiduciary is responsible for implementing complex trusts and planning programs. Priya’s expertise will add to Fiduciary’s capabilities in implementing and administering complex estate plans in the context of continually changing trust laws, and beneficiary needs and situations.
Priya joins Fiduciary Trust from Goulston & Storrs PC, where she worked as a private client & trust associate, applying creative solutions to complex estate planning and trust administration matters involving multigenerational clients. This built off of her prior experience at Day Pitney LLP, drafting and implementing estate plans to address personal and tax planning goals for individuals and families. Earlier in her career, she spent time at Locke Lord LLP and the Energy Foundation.
“Priya’s extensive experience in trusts and estates makes her a valuable new addition to our team,” said Chief Fiduciary Officer Stacy K. Mullaney. “Her fresh perspectives and ability to generate creative solutions will enable her to have an immediate impact.”
Priya is a member of the Boston Bar Association Trusts & Estates Steering Committee and a Co-Chair of the organization’s Continuing Legal Education Committee. She is also actively involved in the Young Professional Advisory Council at Housing Families, and serves as a member of the South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston.
