Open Architecture

At its simplest level, open architecture provides investors access to top-performing investment managers.

Open architecture allows us to sit on the same side of the table with our clients. It allows us to serve as an objective advisor, presenting investment recommendations without the potential for the conflicts of interest that many other financial firms encounter almost daily. We do not have any proprietary mutual funds or in-house inventories of stocks or bonds. We make no commissions selling products to our clients. Our allegiance is to quality, not brand.

In today’s world, access to, selection of, and ongoing monitoring of investment managers are all critical drivers of success. Our expertise in alternative investment strategies—as well as the scale of the assets we manage—gives us access to some of the most respected specialized managers, many of whom otherwise would not be available to our clients. Our bargaining power lies in the fact that investment managers view our clients’ assets collectively, allowing us to leverage our relationship in order to provide clients with attractive fee arrangements and timely advice.

Fiduciary Trust’s open-architecture approach addresses both the opportunities and the risk inherent in building a solid investment portfolio.
